Construction continues on schedule for the new $143 million terminal building. Chillers have been installed and the main chiller plant and cooling towers are being piped. Main electrical switchgear has been installed and electrical crews are awaiting the Santee Cooper transformer. Permanent power is still on for mid-July. BHS construction in the TSA Checked Baggage Inspection System (CBIS) area is ongoing while baggage claim devices have started. Full operation is expected in 2013.
Short-term parking rates are as follows: first 15 minutes free; $1.00 for each additional 20 minutes. The maximum per 24-hour period is $21. No overnight parking is allowed in short-term parking. Long-term parking is $9 for first 24 hours and $8 each consecutive day. Economy parking is $7 for the first 24 hours and $6 for each consecutive day. Take advantage of the free shuttle bus service between the terminal and the economy lot.
Myrtle Beach International Airport is easily reached from North Carolina's southern coast via U. S. Highway 17 S., to S.C. Highway 9 N., to S.C. Highway 31 S., to U. S. Highway 501 W. and back to U. S. 17 Bypass S. Follow the signs to the airport just a few blocks south of U.S. 501.
