Paws Place was founded in 1999 and operates as a no-kill, non-profit 501(c)3 sanctuary dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and adoption of dogs. They offer refuge for sick, homeless and abused dogs. The organization operates on donations, volunteers, and an unending love for animals. Upon arrival, each dog is fully vetted and examined. Before dogs are available for adoption, they are spayed or neutered, given all age-appropriate vaccinations, started on heartworm preventative, microchipped and showered with love and affection. Volunteer opportunities are available in, but not limited to the following areas: kennel duties; feeding, walking, grooming, bathing and playing with dogs and puppies; maintaining the grounds; socializing dogs; event planning; fundraising; grant writing; publicity and adoption events. Paws Place is extremely excited to be embarking on their biggest project since their founding - building an indoor shelter. This project has been made possible through the efforts of their diverse volunteers and wonderful supporters. Please watch for the opening in early 2017. You can find Paw's Place on Facebook or their website to learn more about ways that you can help, or stop by the kennel. Paw's Place is open every day from 9 a.m. until noon.
